A different duty cycle than any other floor on this site.
Warehouse and distribution floors take steel wheel loading, forklift traffic, pallet drops and constant abrasion, day after day, for years.
A residential or light-commercial coating is not built for that duty cycle. Forklift wheels concentrate enormous point loads into a small contact area, and a thin film that would be perfectly durable in a garage will crack, chip or delaminate under that kind of repeated impact. Industrial floors need more film thickness, a harder resin system, and a joint-fill approach that lets the slab move without the coating tearing at the seams.
We spec industrial systems around what actually crosses the floor: forklift class and tire type, pallet jack traffic, chemical exposure from the product stored on-site, and whether the space runs at ambient temperature or cycles through cold storage. 02 / THE SYSTEM
Urethane cement and forklift-rated polyaspartic.
Urethane cement is the standard for the heaviest-duty warehouse floors — high impact resistance, thermal shock tolerance for wash-down or temperature-cycled spaces, and strong chemical resistance against fuel, oil and cleaning agents. A forklift-rated polyaspartic system is the faster-cure alternative for floors that need less chemical exposure resistance but still see steady steel-wheel and pallet-jack traffic. Both are built to a thickness that a standard commercial or garage system is not.
Densifiers are used ahead of either system on new or bare slabs to harden and seal the surface before coating, reducing dusting and improving bond. Expansion and control joints are filled with a semi-rigid polyurea filler that flexes with slab movement instead of cracking at the edge — a joint that is coated straight over instead of filled properly is one of the most common failure points we see on warehouse floors that were done wrong the first time.

03 / COLD STORAGE & SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Cold storage, thermal shock and impact loading.
A floor that transitions between a refrigerated zone and an ambient dock, or that takes repeated impact from dropped pallets, needs a system chosen for that stress — not the standard spec.
Cold-storage floors face thermal shock every time a door cycles between temperature zones, and a system that is not built to flex through that swing will eventually crack at the transition points. We select resin systems rated for the operating temperature range and detail the transition zones specifically, rather than running one coating straight through a temperature break.
Impact resistance matters most in staging areas, dock zones and anywhere pallets get dropped or dragged. Line striping and safety markings — aisle boundaries, pedestrian walkways, staging zones and OSHA-standard safety colors — are installed to your facility's layout, or we can help lay one out if you do not already have one on paper.

01 What makes a floor system "forklift-rated"?
It comes down to film thickness and the resin base. A forklift-rated system is built thick enough, and hard enough, to resist point-loading from steel wheels and repeated impact without cracking or delaminating — a garage-grade coating is not built for that duty cycle.
02 Do you install line striping and safety markings?
Yes — aisle lines, pedestrian walkways, staging zones and OSHA-standard safety colors, laid out to your facility plan or ours if you need one built.
03 How do you handle control joints and cracks in a warehouse slab?
Joints get filled with a semi-rigid filler so they carry forklift traffic without the edges spalling. Cracks are chased and repaired before coating. Joints are never coated over and left to telegraph or trap debris.
04 Can you coat a cold-storage or refrigerated floor?
Yes, with a system selected for the temperature range and the thermal shock of doors cycling between zones. Tell us the operating temperature and the transition points when you request a quote so we spec the right system, not the standard one.
